They aren't meant to be used together. There is already a similar board designed specifically for Alfaerie, called chinese-alfaerie.png, though the Alfaerie pieces probably work best for boards using squares instead of intersections. Generally, disk pieces should go on boards with intersections, and Chess pieces should go on boards with squares.
