I viewed the homepage on my laptop, because it has none of the fonts used on this site installed on it, and it looked fine. I also noticed that neither of my desktops have Literata installed, but it still showed up on both. So I find myself unable to replicate the problem.
In case it is a matter of falling back to another font, I have changed the list of fonts in the --serif definition from
The fallback fonts in the new definition have more of the features I chose Literata for, such as more uniform strokes and more uniform digit heights. You should refresh your cache to test whether this makes things look better for you. If you have a recent version of Windows, Cambria should already be installed.
