As I become aware of them, I plan to post information on chess variant
tournaments, or related tournaments. I think it's to our benefit to
encourage events of this nature, and I ask anyone who is in the Detroit
area on 9/28 to give the following a look.

For a quick summary

Chess Variant Tournament

Join us Sunday, September 28 for a day of Chess Variants. We will be
playing chess variants from ancient and modern times. There will be three
round tournaments in Chess960, Xiangqi, Shogi, Makruk, and one non-Chess
variant, Cannon. The event will be held at the Carrel Chess Club
(www.carrelchessclub.com) in Canton, Michigan. Entry fee $5.00.
