I think I would prefer to forbid both players from playing the same army, since I think the main reason for interest in CWDA is the unequal armies aspect. Although the game as a whole may encompass FIDE Chess, Colorbound Clobberers Chess, Nutty Knights Chess, and Remarkable Rookies Chess, none of these pit unequal armies against each other. Although the Fischer Random Chess preset did not prevent FIDE Chess, the chance for it was nearly one tenth of one percent per game, whereas here it would be one out of every sixteen games, which are great enough odds to justify forbidding it.
