This army for Chess with Different Armies is based around the moves of the Grasshopper.Setup
The pieces other than King & pawns are replaced with other pieces. In place of the Rooks there are 2 Lokix. In place of the Knights, there are 2 Weregrasshoppers, in place of the Bishops are the Nymble, & in place of the Queen is the Contraur, the compound piece of Contragrasshopper & Centaur.Pieces
| Weregrasshopper | Lands directly behind the nearest piece {2,1}-hippogonally, or jumps to the 2nd square in all 8 directions | |
| Nymble | Lands directly behind the nearest piece orthogonally, or slides up to 2 squares diagonally | |
| Lokix | Lands directly behind the nearest piece diagonally, or slides up to 3 squares orthogonally | |
| Contraur | Hops from cell next to hurdle and landing any distance beyond it in all 8 directions, makes a Knight's jump, or steps one square in all 8 directions |
