The Piececlopedia is intended as a scholarly reference concerning the history and naming conventions of pieces used in Chess variants. But it is not a set of standards concerning what you must call pieces in newly invented games.

Camelrider

The Camelrider is a piece mostly popular with problemists. It can make makes multiple Camel-leaps, in the same direction.

Historical Notes

The piece was probably first used in some problems by T.R. Dawson. It has seen some use 21st century in variants by M. Winther (which also feature variants that capture as queen or rook). Outside those variants it appears in Great Rider Chess and Lynx Chess
