I don't really think it's a good thing that pawns only take four turns to promote. That's just my opinion, though.

These rules do not make clear which direction, or possibly directions, count as forward. If forward is the same as in Chess, then some Pawns won't be able to move without capturing a piece. I would presume that forward for each Pawn is away from the side it starts on.
