I asked a chess reseller whether he couldn't sell 10x10, 8x10, and
gustavian boards by retail. After all, he is selling the Seirawan piece
set so he could improve sales of this by selling chess variant boards. But
he couldn't even produce vinyl board mats because these would cost $50
each while the interest is so low. It is strange that I cannot buy variant
board sizes anywhere, except European draughts boards (10x10) that cost
around 40 pounds, excluding shipment and VAT.

Seems to me you are ripped off for the 10x10. Where I live, the World is
saturated with them.

Also 10x8 is produced and commercially available in the U.S. for $30,
including pieces. It is not allowed on this website to refer to their
supplier, though.

23x26 for $13.95, which means you get 4 10x10 boards, by cutting it up. so
that averages to about $3.49 per 10x10 mat. or 6 10x8 boards for average of $2.32 per board.
