Unfortunately, it does not know what a Shogi piece looks like, and I have not been able to get it to draw something that looks like an actual Shogi piece.
Fortunately, ChatGPT knew what a Shogi piece looked like. I used it to draw a Qilin piece, but I added the Kanji text with Paint.net, because the Kanji ChatGPT was writing didn't look correct.

Something of a shame then that the Kanji given are incorrect: the 麒麟 is the FD
which in Chu promotes to lion, not the lion itself (the word as used in moern Japanese refers to Giraffes). The correct Kanji for the Lion (as per Wikipedia) are 獅子, meaning (unsurprisingly) Lion.
That was my mistake. I corrected the information on the page and got ChatGPT to give me an image of a Chu Shogi Lion piece, which I added the Kanji to manually. I'm on the free version, and it tells me I won't be able to use it again until 5:47 PM tomorrow.
I got ChatGPT to make a new Chu Shogi Lion piece for which it also wrote the Kanji.
I updated the Chu Shogi lion piece again, this time with the lion drawn in a more Japanese style. I was more productive with ChatGPT tonight, getting images for three other Chu Shogi pieces and a blank template before it stopped me from making more.

I added some AI concept art of this piece. Just mentioning Shogi or Chu Shogi leads the AI to draw the piece in a very stylized Japanese manner. Unfortunately, it does not know what a Shogi piece looks like, and I have not been able to get it to draw something that looks like an actual Shogi piece.
