Eight boards of this device are historically popular for simultaneous Chess exhibition. Paul Morphy did eight boards all the time blindfold, http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chesscollection?cid=1015464. The devices besides 3d could be used for eight simultaneous games at once, letting the opponents step up to each board in turn instead of the Chess master. This is really cool. If it is either inexpensive to purchase or easy to self-assemble, it will go a long way in the real world application of a lot of 3D Chess variants. I look forward to more detail about this product.
Thank you Mr. Smith for taking the time to respond to my post, and yes I think it’s very cool! and like I said to Ben Reiniger in an earlier post, I like to keep things basic and simple; thus my choice to use PVC's; but yes, constructing and perfecting the prototype was quite expensive and even though the project is constructed entirely of PVC pipes and parts it will still cost quite a bit. But on avarge and compated to prior art designs, still less.
I lined up a company call Flex PVC.com and was told that they can put together a kit (all parts and precut pipes and glue) for me for no less than $300. Not including shipping and handling). If I add my markup to cover overhead expense the entire kit mayvcost anywhere from $400 to $500 dollars.
What do you think, is this an acceptable price, will it sell, should I mark-it-down and take a lost?
Mr. Duke, Hello
With many variants requiring more than one player I for saw my device being very handy in that regards; players can analyze, explore and play a single shared board between them or play on multiple boards without having to constantly rise and move; risking upsetting the board.

Hello all;
How would you like a device where you can analyze, create, explore, and play a variety of multilevel chess variants? I'm working on an invention of my own design, a 3D chess set where you do just that -- how? By simply adding and or removing the individuale levels of the device as you need them, moreover, you can add your own custom made boards and pieces.
Here is a picture of me with an earlier prototype model I built out of PVC pipes and parts, I painted it black, and have made changes to this design, and I hope to get pictures of the new design up loaded soon.
Email me or post your comments here, but please tell me what you think, your most critical opinion is appreciated
